About Holiko

At Holiko, we bring together people who are truly passionate about healthy skin. Our team consists of experts in natural ingredients, gentle formulations, and meticulous manufacturing processes—but also of creative minds who challenge our ideas and provide fresh inspiration.

Together, we are working to develop skincare products that are effective, gentle on the skin, and inspired by nature.

We place great importance on involving our community in product development from the very beginning, so that we can identify their needs and ideas early on and use them to create products that truly make a difference.

“It is a privilege for me to help people achieve healthier skin.”

Dr. Beatrix Förster

Founder & CEO of Holiko

How did you come up with the idea to start Holiko?

For many years, I conducted research at the University Medical Center Utrecht, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and Stanford University on the molecular mechanisms of skin diseases, as well as on immunotherapy and alternatives to antibiotics. In addition to my scientific work, I have completed training in naturopathy and the production of natural cosmetics.

Holiko offers me the unique opportunity to make skincare concepts accessible that are based on my accumulated knowledge and my love for natural active ingredients—and that have already proven valuable to my family and friends.

Where does the name Holiko come from?

Holiko has two meanings: First, the most important active ingredient in our products is colostrum—the first milk produced by cows—which is considered liquid gold. As the source of this precious substance, cows are sacred to me—just as they are revered as sacred in India.

Second, I am fascinated by the colors of the Holi Festival in India. When people throw colored powder at each other there, the skin looks as if the diverse microbiome of healthy skin were being made visible.

How do your children explain what you do at Holiko?

“My mom helps people with itchy, red skin look beautiful again.”

Where can we find you when you're not working?

I love being outdoors in nature—with our family dog Lucy or with my quails in the garden. Nature is also where I find inspiration for new plant-based active ingredients.
